Where can I buy a nice, long lasting, waterproof mascara for a reasonable price? Thanks a bunch~

There are so many choices nowadays for reasonable priced mascara. Maybelline have the most populer mascara in the world - one is sold every minute! It costs around 20 dollars and can be found in Watsons. It is good to buy an affordable mascara as you must replace it every three months in hk due to the humidity and high temperatures. You must be careful to always put clean and new makeup especially near your eyes. Also don't 'pump' the wand into the bottle as this makes it dry out faster. Make sure you remove waterproof mascara every night with proper remover as it is water resistant. Long live your lovely lashes!

I have found that it is really difficult for me to draw eyebrows which are suitable for me. I have a round face and I don't know what type of eyebrow can make me look better. Can you please give me some good suggestion? Rosette

Eye brows are a vital part of 'face dressing' as much so as your makeup. The right eyebrows for your face can really make a big difference to your look. Firstly, aim to make as subtle changes as possible in order to look natural. If you get too carried away then you will bring attention to your brows, rather than to your eyes which should be the goal. If you make some small changes over a few days it is much better than plucking all of your hairs out in one go! Aim for a slightly arched look in the middle to end of the brow which will divert people's eyes 'up and down' your face, rather than 'across' therefore making your face appear to be narrower. Keep the brows of medium thickness and brush them daily. They should look glossy like your head hair if you look after them well. I even advise our readers to apply conditioner to eyebrows every week or so to keep them glossy. You can also 'fix' brows into the arched position with a clear coloured mascara. Beautiful brows, here we come!

I have always been using a razor to shave my legs and such, but recently, I've noticed that not only the hair are growing back at a more rapid pace, but moreover, they are much coarser. I want to use another method of hair removal. What do you suggest? Are there any waxing salons that you could help recommend? Jennifer

When you shave you are only removing the tip of the hair follicle which is why it seems to grow so very fast - drat! It can help to slow the regrowth if you use a shaving gel and then you can get as close a shave as possible for maximum smoothness. Other options include waxing which basically rips (ouch!) the hair out from the root, yes it does hurt a little but then it will also last longer - no pain no gain! Or you could try threading which is not as painful but takes a little longer to perform. You don't specify what area you are in, so my tip is to look for salons that are busy which should mean that they are very experienced in their jobs. This is very important for hair removal as you need a therapist that has performed waxing or threading hundreds of times and then they will reduce the pain to a minimum. Or you can check out KellyEngland.com and there are recommendations and comments from other customers there also.

My knee seems to be extremely bumpy. No matter how much i scrub it, it never goes away. My friends told me it was ingrown hair. If it is so, how do i get rid of it? Natalie

Ingrown hairs on the knees are very common and really make people feel self conscious. The great news is that it can be fixed with a bit of care and patience! It is caused by hairs being unable to pass through the skins upper epidermis, perhaps as you have healthy thick skin. First things first, don't shave hairs in the 'wrong' direction again, stay away from very tight trousers and moisturize every day. To try and remove them, have a hot steamy bath to open the pores. Then exfoliate with a manual loofah and/or with Salicylic acid - many acne face washes contain this in chemists. When the skin is dry, use a sterilized pair of tweezers and see if you can very gently 'tease' out the hairs. See what happens and do not damage your delicate skin as this will not help! You may have to wait a few more days for the hairs to grow closer to your reach. If this still doesn't work then please head to your doctor and he/she can remove them in the clinic.

Although its summer, I still have extreme dry skin in certain parts of my body. I apply lotion everyday ensuring I keep my skin and body hydrated. However, I still tend to have flaky dry skin. What do I do?? Leisha

Flaky skin can be very irritating especially if it is itchy, so i understand why you want to solve this problem. First make sure you are not air conditioning your environment too much as this can cause unhappy skin. Then get into the habit of exfoliating twice a week with a scrub product or with a buffer available from any pharmacy. Moisturizing after every shower will improve your skin quality so get rubbing in! An oil such as Johnsons Baby Oil (less than HKD30) applied to slightly damp skin may also do the trick. If you are doing hair removal be careful not to go overboard as not to damage your skin. If all of this doesn't work then please head to your doctor as you may have a more serious skin condition that medication can solve. Good luck!

What do you think about eyelash tinting? Where is good? Then can you do without mascara? Thanks!
